NAF is very pleased and proud to have been awarded the “BAVARIA’S BEST 50” prize for 2020 by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
The prize is awarded to particularly fast-growing medium-sized companies that have been able to increase their number of employees and turnover at an above-average rate in recent years. The award winners have been determined for many years using the Birch key figures. The so-called Birch Index was originally used specifically for the comparative assessment of personnel growth and is also suitable for the comparative assessment of other growth variables. The observation period of five years in each case ensures that award winners must demonstrate sustained growth in sales and personnel.
The constant application of this procedure ensures that the award winners are determined in an appropriate, objective and comparable manner each year. Together with all the other participation criteria, the SMEs therefore have to overcome very high hurdles in order to be among the award winners. This is precisely what characterises the special value of the “BAVARIA’S BEST 50” award for medium-sized companies.
It was important to the Ministry of State, especially in these difficult times, to place the focus on entrepreneurial role models and therefore to adhere to the long-standing tradition of an annual award ceremony.
The award winners are determined by the Baker Tilly GmbH & Co. KG accountancy company, which acts as an independent juror and evaluates the participants according to objective criteria.
In-company training is also central to entrepreneurial growth and sustainable economic success. At the same time it is also an expression of the entrepreneur’s social responsibility, according to the Bavarian State Ministry.
“In fact, in-company training and further education play a central role at NAF AG. Many of the 580 employees have completed company training with us and can look back on many years of service. The know-how acquired by the employees as a result is an important success factor,” says Dr Norbert Knorren, the company’s Chief Sales & Finance Officer.
